MATURE CONTENT
VIDEO PERFORMANCE, 2004
This unpretentious video performance-documentation was conceived as an attempt to investigate the cultural perception about sensuality in the USA. The ironic and decaying aesthetic choice of having my body wrapped in unglamorous stretch film plastic contradicts the serious and intimate approach to the spectators. It creates an awkward situation in order for the viewers to discourse on his/her point of view concerning the question: “How do you feel about sensuality in America?”.
The bar lounge atmosphere creates a specific pattern of answers to the subject addressed. The documental aspect of the performance subverts the safety of the initial voyeuristic role of the participants.
